Penguin seems sick

Vets really need to start keeping some spots open for emergencies. I know in some places, mostly large cities, they have Emergency clinics, but not everyone has access to them! So especially in places like this, they need some sort of plan.

This has been bugging me for a long time. I know they are overworked and there are not enough vets in some areas, but doesn't it weigh on their conscience that animals are potentially dying? "I'm sorry your dog got run over by a truck. We have a spot open two weeks from Monday. Is that good for you?"

I totally agree. Our Vets think Ducks are exotic pets and will not even see them so we are on our own. It is fortunate for some that can see the Vet. Even our farm Vets refuse to see Ducks. I think they think a sick duck is a dead duck. How sad.

Okay soo.... do fleas fly?? I just found this pile of flea looking bugs in my kitchen, the big ones seem to be dead, but I wiped them up with a paper towel and there were many much smaller alive ones moving on the paper towel. I went ahead and checked my bunny for them and she seems to be free from them and isn't scratching or anything, though it's hard to he sure with how thick her fur is. I went to the bathroom and saw another one on the bathroom wall. I took it off the wall and put it on top of my toilet and it sat there for a minute then flew away. Is this a flea or something else?

Okay I googled it and fleas don't fly so nevermind I guess must be something else. Looked like a flea but it definitely had wings and it wasn't a gnat either. The wings more folded up like some kind of tiny beetle

So glad that you do not have fleas in your house. Fleas can jump very high but you are right, they do not fly.

Hmm maybe, they do look similar to that. Just working on cleaning everything it's still somewhat of a mess from when I had the ducks inside. If they're still here after a few days I'll just call an exterminator or something.
