Pink? I have no idea what that is. Do you mean pinkeye? If you are going to give penicillin to an animal, you need to give it for five days straight to kill the infection. That said, if you are treating for pinkeye, you need to consult a vet to find the best course of treatment. I'm not sure penicillin is it, but it has been many years since I have had to treat animals for it.

My neighbor had a 5 month old pigmy goat that has a broken leg. He asked me to "put it down". Wife wouldn't let me, now I have this little goat in my house. The break is on her back leg, above her toes and before the knee. I used an old shoehorn as a splint and gave her aspirin. Now I'm stuck and not sure what else to do. Vet wants $700 for a cast, for which I don't have. Anything else I can do? I was going to pick up some penicillin in the morning. Help if ya can....

$700 for a simple cast is just insane. You can use just about anything for a splint. I had a farm vet use a length PVC pipe cut in half lengthwise. He padded the inside with cotton and wrapped the whole thing with vet wrap. I have known people to use a toilet paper roll. As long as you have the bones aligned the kid will do just fine. Put some padding, like cotton, between the shoe horn and the kid's leg though. As for my kid with the PVC cast, when it was removed after 6 weeks, that leg was smaller than the other. If that happens, don't panic. The leg will grow to normal size in a very few weeks.
