I did the same thing. These boxes are great! 7/16" thick, 4' x 3' 6", 25" high, plenty of room for the chicks. Mine held potatoes, and yes my favorite part... they're free!

Warden, that is simply beautiful. I think my wife would even let me keep that one in the house! Well, maybe not

HaHa, my hubby can't say a word cuz it's in MY office! Look how big it is compared to my TV. Notice I am on BYC on the computer too with my coffee and snuggy. His office is next to mine with drums, guitars, mixing board, synthesizers, keyboards, flight simulator, etc. He knows better than to say ONE word to me! We are spoiled retirees.

And it's a whole lot bigger than it looks in real life. It's a really nice brooder.

Simple as I could get. I have 2 of these tubs so I can swap them out for cleaning. I drilled holes in the sides about 3" from the bottom so there is a constant turnover of air. Those tubs have been in the attic unused for almost 12 years, so no huhu drilling holes in them...

There's a pair of Golden sex links in there right now.

It's not much but I learned a lot making it and it has served me well these first three weeks It is to small for 25 chicks more than 4 weeks old, though.
