I got these two girls from MPC back in November and I’ve been trying to confirm identity since then. One is a Partridge Olive Egger and one is a cream legbar. It’s been bugging me so much because I can’t really be confident on which is laying which egg. I’ve always suspected Chicken A is my olive egger and chicken B is my cream legbar, but there is a detail that makes me question. According to the MPC site, the partridge olive egger is supposed to be a smaller chicken. Chicken A in my photo is a big girl. She’s almost the biggest in the flock even standing next to my barred rock and Rhode Island Red. Chicken B is very petite and closer in size to my Polish and white leghorn. I really try to catch them in the nest but my girls are constantly switching boxes before laying, so even if I see one sitting I can never be sure if that’s her egg or someone else’s.
