These chicks are 6 weeks old. They were the McMurray "Rainbow Layer Assortment." The packing slip said it included two "Americaunas" and an exotic breed in the shipment but don't have any clue which they are or the breeds of the other chicks. Please help me figure it out!

There are two sets of black chickens. I can't really tell them apart now, but when they were chicks some were solid black and others were black with yellow tummies. I don't know which set of boy this came from but some of its tail and wing feathers have white tips:

This lovely lady looked like a chipmunk for the first couple weeks. Any ideas?

This one is a really dark color with lovely copper tips:

This one is totally black (ignore the dust marks). I think it was slightly smaller than the other black ones:

Silver Spangled Hamburg?

Okay, this isn't a leghorn as it's way too big. Very similar in size and build to our Buff Orphingtons:

Our smallest chicken. Was a red fuzzball. Poor thing has been picked on so her profile isn't pretty.

And my favorite, Bertha. She has olive legs, so I think she might be my "Americauna."

I see a Gold Laced Wyandotte, a Silver Spangled hamburg, maybe a white rock?, a Rhode Island Red, and an EE (their Ameraucana)
the black one might be a black sex link (the one with the red on the wings)
I'm not sure about the first, but I might guess an Australorp?

We got the rainbow layers two years ago.

Lovely egg basket you'll have!

Bird - 1 - Looks to have blue legs, if so it could be a Minorca.
Birds - 2 and 3 - I cant see the comb so if it has a single comb it could be a Partridge Rock, if it has a rose comb it could be a Partridge Wyanddotte.
Bird - 4 - Could be a Black Giant, a Australorp or a Black Orpington cant see the bottom of the feet to well.
(Black Giant will have Yellow on the bottom of the feet, Australorp should have Pinkish Yellow on the bottom of the feet and Black Orpington should have Pinkish White on the bottom of the feet)
Bird - 5 - Silver Spangled Hamburg
Bird - 6 - Looks to be a White Rock..
Bird - 7 - Production Red
Bird - 8 - Easter Egger/ Amer i cauna ( Some hatcheries falsely call Easter Eggers/ Amer i cauna a Araucanas and Amer au canas )

Thank you! I'm trying to decide which to keep and which to part with. I have 26 in my brooder but only plan on keeping 6-7!

1- might be a Minorca? What color are the earlobes?
2 and 3 are Dark Cornish. You can get a variation of how much black is in the feather, but the have a double penciled black on red with the necks being black. The legs are a bit heavier that other breeds. Not sure but maybe both pullets.
4 Australorp or Black Giant check the bottoms of the feet to tell which
5 Silver Spangled Hamburg or EE
6- White Leghorn
7-Red Fuzzball, need to see her head
8- EE (they call them Ameraucanas, but they are EEs not purebreds)

Oh I'm sure the first one is a roo! He totally acts like one already.

If #2 & 3 are Cornish, that would explain the giant legs and upright posture. They are built identically but don't look alike in the feathers.

4. The bottom of the feet are mostly gray with a tiny bit of yellow? I'm leaning towards Austalorp as they aren't as big as the orphingtons.

6. These are big birds, with a build and look almost identical to the buff orphingtons that came in the same shipment. They are also friendly and not flighty so I'm pretty sure they aren't leghorns. #3 def. isn't a black sexlink because it looked like a chipmunk as a chick, not black at all.

7. I didn't want to take pictures of her head because she's had most of her neck feathers removed through pecking. : ( I'll post them once she's recovered.

I'm only keeping 6-8 of my 26 chicks, so I'm trying to make sure that I get a nice assortment of eggs. I'm keeping Bertha (#8) as there seems to be a consensus that she's the EE. I'm supposed to have one more in the batch but I can't figure out who that might be. I also have a maran that I'll keep. I'd like to end up with 2 white egg layers and 2 additional brown egg layers. So I'm keeping the SSH and a BO, but am unsure on my final choices. Who do you suggest?

it's the other way around, most hatcheries say that they are americaunas or aracounas, (please excuse my spelling!) but they are really EEs.
