Which would be better, Exterior grade plywood with several coats of paint or T1-11 siding with several coats of paint? Trying to figure out what to use on my coop.

They're equal. Depends on the look you want, a smooth wall (Plywood) or the paneled look of T-111. They're are both made of exterior grade wood.

The one you can find for free on Craigslist.

Seriously, people give away lumber and other materials all the time on Craigslist. You might find other materials, such as tin siding and roofing, that could work for you.

I have a barn built with T1-11, it has lasted 24 years so far. I might get around to painting it one day. However bullit had the right idae, Check craigslist.org under the "free" and "farm & garden" sections. Good Luck.
