i had 2 girlies laying on eggs at the same time. when karen's hatched, JJ stopped laying on hers. she walks back and forth outside the enclosure. I think she thinks the babies are hers. i feel so bad for her. opinions on getting a couple chicks from the store and giving them to her?

How long has JJ been off her nest? She could be off it for several hours, and the eggs could still be alive.

Have you tried putting her back on her eggs?

If you think JJ's eggs are now a lost cause, how about giving her a couple of Karen's chicks? Many of us have had co-parenting hens. They will go free-ranging, and the chicks will follow either one of them.
