The only oliver egger I have is a handicap barred olive egger. Her splay wasn't fixed when she was a chick. I adopted her at 15-weeks. It was too late to fix it then. Her name is Penny.[Not so] Patiently waiting for the chicks we ordered from Meyer Hatchery (we ordered for a hatch date of April 29, so we have a ways to go yet). I have a pretty solid idea for what most of the chicks will look like, but we ordered one olive egger and from website photos it's a wildcard as to what that one's look like.
In the meantime, indulge me and share pictures of your olive Eggers. Adult or chicks, I just wanna look at pretty birds!
Yeah they were my 1st chickens and I just about died (in a good/funny way) when it started growing in at around 3-4 weeks. I had no idea chickens had crest, muffs, beards, feathered shanks, etc. At 1st I thought she just had scraggly bed-head and my mom was sure it meant she was male !Olive is adorable! This is ash my adorable baby! I absolutely adore this chicken she was the sweetest girl! Plus she layed such lovely olive eggs!!
She looks cozy there. Can she walk at all with the splay leg?The only oliver egger I have is a handicap barred olive egger. Her splay wasn't fixed when she was a chick. I adopted her at 15-weeks. It was too late to fix it then. Her name is Penny.
Oh, look at their adorable little crests! I like the splash one, was she noticeably paler than the others as a chick or was her chick down darker?I have a few Olive Eggers, along with EEs. They were a surprise because I got these chicks from someone else that told me all he knew was they are mixed breed, but no clue what mixes. Anyway, they have the cutest little top notch feathers on their heads. I had my own chicks, similar age, so I just added them & my sweet Brahma hen Chanel, was an excellent mama to all, even a few Guineas. Here are some photos.
