I have electric poultry netting around my coop and I want to run power to my chicks' electric heat plate so they can move outside as they are outgrowing their indoor brooder. They only really need the heat plate now at night time and the coop itself is secure but I would like to keep the electric fence on as well to be extra predator proof.
I know you need to keep clearance between electric fences and overhead power lines but I can't find any information about clearance needed for regular mains power cords. Is it safe to run a power cord from the house to the heat plate and have it cross under the electric fence? Or will the two things interfere with each other?
