Prairie Dogs

I rarely see them to shoot them, but I got about 50 holes and new ones daily.

Cool idea, a water source and a trash pump! Make the area unfit for them to live and have babies. Don't use poison as chickens will peck and eat the carcasses and although they says there is a low chance of secondary poisoning, a slim chance is still a chance.

An old vacuum hose run down the hole and hooked up to the exhaust of a running car will do the trick.

I hate what prairie dogs do to property. Exhaust works only if you block or at least restrict some of the holes, as all are connected. Give it lots of timie to work too. .22's work fine, but what I find most entertaining is reloaded 12 ga loaded with BB shot. Wait till there are two or three at the top of the hole the fire. Good for up to 50 yards.

I'd drop a big handful (wear gloves!) of dry ice down each hole I could find then immediately cover them over to keep the gas from escaping. Won't harm the ground, won't poison your other animals, it's fairly cheap and expands a LOT as it sublimates.

A friend of ours has this prairie dog killer. Rodex 4000. Need protective gear.
You stick the hose in the ground and press a button to release propane gas into the hole. Then you hit an ignition switch and it ignites the propane which kills the prairie dogs.

Or you can find the guy with the old septic tank truck that sucks them up and out of the ground. Only thing I didn't like about him is he releases them back out somewhere else for them to tear up.
