prayer warriors (following Jesus Christ, everyone welcome)

I do too. I've been told in no uncertain terms that I must STAY OFF my right leg as I have some kind of broken bone in the knee joint - not a torn ACL as I'd feared. I'm not asking for prayers for healing, so much as prayers for my mental and spiritual health. I'm a little discouraged to think I'm going to be restricted to a wheelchair indefinitely. But I see the orthopedic surgeon Thursday, so we'll see what she says.
Praying for you. Philippians 4:6-8

We do not pray to persuade God to do something for us that He is unwilling to do for us. Nor do we pray to make Him aware of our needs. He knows what we need. We do not pray to bring Him down to our level. No. We pray to bring ourselves into alignment with His will. We pray to bring ourselves into submission to His great heart of love. Scripture says His ear is not heavy that it cannot hear, nor His arm shortened that it cannot save, but that our sins have come between us and Him, so that He cannot hear our prayers. Isa. 59:1, 2. Let us pray that He may open our eyes and hearts so that we can see where we have gone out of His will, and how we can come back into alignment with Him, so that He can bless us.
I needed to see this today. We have a family friend - a young man (one of my “extra sons” who spent much time here with my sons) who is in need of a heart and lung transplant. He’s been on the list, off the list as back on it three times already and currently back off due to an infection that has spread throughout his body.

Mid 30’s, married, three young kids and a friend to everyone he meets. We pray and say “Your will be done.” I’ve found myself wondering lately why we say that. God is going to do what He’s going to do whether we give Him permission or not. He’s going to heal our friend here on earth or in Heaven (he is a born-again believer). I have never thought about those words from this perspective before. Sorry, I know I’m rambling. Sometimes it’s hard to find the right words so I just throw a bunch of them out there and hope they make sense…

I completely understand where you're coming from. Prolonged debilitation is mentally exhausting. Will certainly add this request in my prayers.

Let's hope and pray for a positive alternative on Thursday; a brace and a walker perhaps?
Thank you so much! :hugs

Praying for you. Philippians 4:6-8
Thank you! I love this passage!

Philippians 4:6-8 KJV
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

We actually do give God permission to work in our lives when we pray, in a sense. If we don't ask, Satan can accuse God of interfering, of blessing us arbitrarily. We are in a battle, a war, the Bible says. Wars have rules of engagement. If you read the Book of Job you'll see that Satan could only afflict Job (and by extension, us) as far as God allows. But Satan can lie, deceive and cheat to achieve his ends, things God would never do. Neither does God use force. He only uses the power of love. There are things God will do, in response to the sincere prayer of faith, that He would not otherwise do, if we did not ask. We can and should invite His power into our lives.
