% protein for chicks

My dad went to get Growers Pellet's for the chicks, but accidentally got Turkey &game growers instead! It’s 24% protein… that’s too much for chicks right? Could I mix it with ground barley to ‘dilute’ it or something or should I just bring it back?

I've fed 24% to chicks in the past and I have a lot of old laying hens right now. It didn't do any harm.

That's fine. I had mine on 30% fir a bit when I also had quail chicks being raised

You generally don't start running into issues with too much protein until you get over 30%. What your dad brought them is perfectly fine
