The hemi-sphere molds of the aebleskiver pan are perfect for cooking bite sized quail egg morsels. Add the eggs to a well buttered pan, add your favorite fixings, cover and cook on medium-low for a little while, and enjoy. Spritzing some water droplets to the pan before covering gives the tops of the eggs a poached effect.

I’ve heard takoyaki pans produce good results, too. Takoyaki molds have a 1 or 1.5” diameter, whereas aebleskiver are usually 2 or 3” diameter.

Big thank you to Rock my coturnix for the double yolkers!

I do the same thing with a mini muffin pan.

My takoyaki pan needs better seasoning. All the eggs stuck.

I have these silicone eggletts that work too (dollar store find!), but the eggs will be boiled, not fried.

Check out korean street food videos where they make quail egg takoyaki. It's pretty cool what they can do.

Butter the hell out of the pan, cook on medium low with lid on, and you'll get good results. I haven't boiled eggs yet, I'm excited to try those and toss them into my bento box and take awesome instagram photos :D
