Purple egg white after boiling?

I hard boiled some eggs and this one had

smears of a purplish/brown on it. The yolk was normal. Curious as to what would cause it, I thought blood so I gave it to the dogs.

I'm just going to echo and agree with you both.. looks like a blood or meat spot (since it's inside the white).. seen near the bottom of the page in the following link..
