Pycheon hen. Singular. She needs friends and a husband.

She is so so cute! I have never heard of that breed but wow, how darling is she! I would suggest getting a few friendly bantam hens for her in the meantime while you wait until you can find more Pycheons!

My smallest bantams are ameraucanas and banty ameraucana/silkie crosses! They are so cute too and about pigeon sized. Smaller than silkies. They seem very friendly as well. They might be an option for you if you can find a good breeder of bantam ameraucanas near you.

lol I really need to take some pics of my birds again. These were the best I could find that show scale of the lavender bantam ameraucana girl near silkies.

I thank you so much! The pictures really give me such a better idea of how big everyone is. The lavender bantam ameraucanas seem so perfect.

I will keep trying to find her own kind, but I am not having lots of luck. The people who gave her to me are not replying when I asked where she actually came from. I just want a little flock, and to make lots of little birds like her. She is so smart and cute and ... yet very much wanting to be Queen of the flock.

Here's my flock's alpha hen. The sweet pycheon is next to her, thru a 1/4 inch hardware cloth wire. The big girls really want to pack her, but they can't. And she is bold as anything! She's lovely. Also snuggly! Loves me.

My oldest hen, a lovely Australorp. She wants lots of babies. Wanted babies before she even had a rooster ready to help her. I tried Trader Joe's fertile eggs. But failed. Love her. Helen the hen.

She is very pretty!

I agree, I love her little feather hat! She's so friendly to me and so much wants to rule the other much much bigger flock. It's hilarious. She doesn't back down at all to them. Feisty and adorable. I want to try to breed her as much as I can to save her DNA. They are almost gone from what I can find.

I have a lead on some small (not pycheon) birds... we'll see. Quite a project!
