Question of the Day - Monday, April 14th, 2025

I knew this. I always found it amusing that handicap placards are meant to be hung from the rearview mirror, illegally
and parking tags, and forest service permits, and...

I get the feeling if you get popped for this, they're looking for a reason, or they're looking for you specifically.

LOL TIL it's illegal here too.

Whoopsie!
This is what I found for California:
"The CVC 26708 (2) explicitly forbids obstructing the driver’s view through the side window or windshield. Although hanging objects from your rearview mirror may not necessarily obstruct your view of the rear, a law enforcement officer may consider it an obstruction of your clear view through the windshield, potentially resulting in a ticket."

Yeah more or less what AZ's statute says as well. Seems alot of states have that kind of regulation.

Never once in my entire life have I been pulled over for something hanging from my mirror. Like, I can see how it could be a hazard if it's obstructing your view or could become a projectile in a collision for sure. But I had no idea it was illegal.
Meh, can't be any worse than cowboys who keep their hats on the dash or rubber ducks, or trash on the dash for some worktrucks.
