Re-Think My Hatchery Breed Order??

Hi there! I am a returning chicken owner after several years not having them. I ordered my chickens online from The Cackle Hatchery, who I used before and really liked. However...I succumbed to the call to "cuteness" and purchased a set of chickens in a packaged called the "Crazy Chicken Lady Starter Kit. It looked like fun, sort of a "mystery box" of chicken breeds. I thought this would be fun for my grandkids. However, I live in Upstate NY with very cold winters, and I'm wondering if I should rethink that and go with a breed more tolerant of my climate?
