How do i deal with an overly aggressive broody hen? I get they are protective, and protect their eggs/babies, but she attacks me for no reason whatsoever, all day long.
She’ll just come up to us and bite hard on the feet, sometimes chasing.

I don’t get it, nothing seems to be working and she just seems to be getting more aggressive, can i atleast calm this down?

Also, this is like the 2nd week in, she was the sweetest thing the first week! It just now started about 2 days ago.

Something else: it seems so random, its not like im grabbing her chicks and then she bites me, she just does it!

Broodies can be like that. She may be hungry & want food. My current broody has small babies and she will go after me to get me to feed them out of cycle (we don’t free feed our birds). Just a thought.
If it’s not food, it’s likely that she is just ultra protective of her eggs and chicks. But I’d think that broody would also be attacking other birds/chickens who got in her area, too.

The weird thing is Rizo (her friend that beats her up, not really a friend, but isbe was obsessed with her before she went broody) she will never beat up, and she cowered to her when rizo gave her a light peck tap.
