REDWOOD Sears Incubator?

Does anyone know anything about a Sears redwood incubator? I have an opportunity to buy one. Seller doesn't have pictures. It has 8 trays and 3 hatching trays. He says it is 63" high, 22" wide and 46 1/2" deep. He said it is a model 228.10.

I am looking to buy it to restore, and he wants $100. for it. It needs door hinges and just a little wood tightened around the bottom.

Anyone had any experience with one or know who made them for Sears and Roebuck?

Leahy made them for everyone back in the day. At that price I would buy it. Is it aauto turn, or manual. May have a lever that you move to turn the trays.

I had a lady just now contact me about a "table style" Redwood Leahy she wants to sell. She is supposed to get back to me with pictures and price. That's all I know about it.

If she doesn't want an arm and a leg that might be a good restoration project as well. Has anyone had any experience with the table style? I have no idea the dimensions or model number. I'm curious as to wether they hatch as well as the cabinet style.

A good friend of mine bought that very same one this weekend, it's Leahy and they are wonderful, and big. She also got a great deal at $300.00 so you had better snatch it. I told her I would restore it for her, maybe she will. It's piece of art and furniture, great find, go get it and don't think twice about the $100.00.

NO KIDDING! Grab as soon as you can. If you are able to repair, its a keep sake. IF you have a $100 it's worth it.

I agree... I think it's worth $100. I'm sure if you decided to sell it you could get your $100. plus back from it.

The Sears redwood incubator was not made by Leahy. Although Leahy was probably one of the major players at the time they certainly weren't the only maker of redwood incubators. I believe there were several . The Sears incubator, mine is a Farm Master, is quite a bit different than my Leahy Favorite. The envelope that the instruction sheet for my Farm Master came in has a return address of Reliable Incubator Company Quincy, Illinois.

I've decided to go look at it in the morning. If I decide it's not what I want I don't have to buy it. I can just figure that I will have a nice drive through the flint hills of Kansas.
