Remember Candy from Your Childhood

I loved "sky bars"...4 chocolate sections, each with a different filling. YUM! Did anybody mention Juicy Fruit gum or Dentine gum?

let's see how many i can remember....

royals-looked like brown and green m & m's but mint flavored and had crowns on them. i loved those!

dinosaur egg jawbreakers- so huge i got one stuck in my mouth at like 8 years old. let's just say they hurt to unstick and takes a few people to help get out.

u could suck on those things for 6mths, and never finish it, rotfl. like the size of a jumbo egg but round. had to use a hammer to break the suckers or they got stuck behind ur teeth. it was like cracking geodes,lol.

huge lolly pops like 6" wide made in a swirl pattern with a cello covering with a pic of disney caracters on them.

crystal rock candy on a stick

red shoestring licorice

tart and tinies by wonka

those pink round mint things taste like pepto,lol not nekoes those were just nasty

bleeps u got out of gumball machine

dimestore lolly pops that were like bleeps but 2 toned. when u eat them they r powdery

smurf gum, u got a pack of cards with it or garbage pail kid's same thing

big legue chew bubble gum

bubble gum cigerettes that blew powder

carmel creams

oh and t-berry gum -best gum i ever had.

pink candied popcorn it was strawberry flavored i think it was so good , haven't seen it in years i think it was a new england thing .
And those pink mints are Canadian mints they come in white 2. And my mother is probably solely responsible for keeping them in business she buys 3 bags every week for the last 40 yrs.
I used to work at a candy store and kids are so cute. but i used to have one kid who came in every week with a bag of pennies about 12 bucks worth and i had to count them.
I wanted to slap his mother for not trading in his pennies at the bank first.

My father used to bring home a little paper bag of penny candy for me after work. Favorites were Squirrels and Mary Janes. Every Sunday before church when I was real small and sat with my grandmother, my parents would take me to this little store and get me Teaberry gum and Clove gum. We lived on Teaberry Road so we had to have the Teaberry gum. There is a chain of candy stores here in New York called Dylan's Candy Bar. There is one in Manhattan and one in Roosevelt Field Mall in Nassau County. The two gums mentioned above cost $2 each. But they have all the old candies. I am now addicted to Good and Plenty.

What is way cool is in Kenebunk Maine, there is a store that actually sells these old fashioned candies! So its really neat!
Personally, if it has sugar or atleast that carb coma you can slip into, I'm all over it! lol.

I used to love Turkish Taffy. It came in 3 flavors, vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Would put it in the fridge until it was cooled then smack it on the counter to break it into smaller peices you could chew without choking yourself to death.

Also Red Hot Dollars. They wen't hot, kind of like the swedish fish.

I grew up in Hershy's county. There isn't any other chocolate that I can eat, lol.

Redfeathers is right on. Marathon bars were the best! I was crushed when they stopped making those...

They still make almost everything everyone has mentioned, I actually keep a box of gobstoppers in my desk at work, for that 2:00 lag that seems to pop up every day.

As for retro candy, I can't really remember. I was born in the 70's, and lots of it is still around today.

Not candy, but after swimming lessons when I was a kid, I used to get a Mello Yello drink out of the machine every day. Mom couldn't understand how I could drink that stuff.
