Removing chicken eye worm? Stubborn film on my chickens eye?

Hello everyone! Having issues with one of my 6 month old Easter egged pullers with what I’m pretty sure is eye worms?
Noticed swelling in her last week but got caught in the winter snow storm and wasn’t able to leave my house all week. Picked up some terramycin as soon as I was able to and have been putting that on her eye for about 3 days with not a ton of results. After looking at her eye I’m pretty sure she has eye worms? We removed part of it today but there’s still a really stubborn film attached to her eye.
does any one have any recommendations on how to deal with this?
Currently giving her vetrx and terramycin in her eye but concerned with getting that last bit out?

That is pus in the eye. It all has to come out before the terramycin will be able to work.
Chicken pus is firm, not runny like human pus. Flush the eye with sterile saline or eye wash and try to get it all cleaned out. You can use a q-tip gently if needed, be very gentle on the eye. Pressure around the eye may help. Video below on removing pus from an eye.
Eye worm is pretty uncommon in the US, putting your general location in your profile makes it easier to give advice and recommend things.
She could have gotten pecked in the eye or other injury, gotten debris in there, or it could be a respiratory virus. Does she have any other respiratory symptoms? Discharge from eyes, nares, beak, or wheezing coughing or sneezing?

Thank you for you reply! I’m in south Texas Btw.
We removed as much puss as we could today with saline solution and paper towels but it wasn’t like any of the videos it was a very small amount. We removed as much puss as we could but there’s like a thin film attached to her eye that we couldn’t get off completely.
She has no respiratory symptoms at all from her eyes or beak. No sneezing or wheezing at all. She acts totally normal aside from her one swollen eye.
Not sure she got pecked since she isn’t at the bottom of the pecking order but if this was more injury and not eye worms will just cleaning the eye regularly and using their antibiotic be helpful? I’ve always read to use vetrx in their eyes so I’ve been doing that as well!

VetRX is basically vicks vapor rub in a bottle. I would stop using it and just use the terramycin. I'd flush the eye daily and apply the ointment 3 times a day. If you don't see some improvement then you may need something stronger which you would likely need to get a prescription for, like ciprofloxacin eye drops. In the third picture, with the eye closed, it still looks swollen. If that was after it was cleaned out, it appears that there may still be pus in there.

How's the chicken's eye?
I want to say a lot better!!! It got really swollen these last few days after we removed puss and I got worried and made and appt with the vet for Tuesday but looking at it today the white film is almost totally gone and swelling is starting to go down! She’s still acting normal too so I am keeping hope up for her!

ive been continuing w the vetrx and terramycin! I’m planning on updating this thread when ever things clear up/ figured out what’s going at the vet!
