Reproductive illness

It’s too bad they don’t have a time-released implant to release testosterone to decrease her estrogen and sease her egg laying. IDK can vets even offer that.
I know there are dog breeders that will pay big bucks to have either sex treated this way (injections).
Just wishing there was something available to stop egg laying. Best wishes

Thank you. I wish this was possible! I’ve heard that implants do exist for birds, but that they are not allowed in the US.

Currently, she is fabulous, although I’m not letting my guard down and am still going to get her seen (still looking at after thanksgiving at the earliest). She laid a proper egg last night and has been ravenously hungry and full of herself. Current challenge has been the weather as nighttime temps are very close to 0 degrees F. Everyone’s being troopers so far, although I would say that Goon 2 is less than impressed with winter so far.

I would like to say, on an unrelated note, that I forgot how much easier frozen poop nuggets are to clean!

Anyways, thank you all for your support and advice :)

Lots of birds in the US have implants, but they aren't cheap and I think they need to be replaced every few months.
Once again, thank you :) I will have to look into it as a potential option. Maybe it was just a certain type of implant they had banned. I don’t know. Accurate duck information is so hard to come by! Thank you for sharing your extensive knowledge. It really is very much appreciated!

Wonderful to hear!! Hoping she keeps it up. I agree it’s a lot easier to scoop frozen poop!
