Rescued a sick tiny chick, please help

Is he drinking? He could be dehydrated.

Can he stand on his own?

It is important to get fluids in him.
When they are tiny, sometimes I can just wet my finger and hold it to the tip of the beak. They will smack it up. This gets them interested.

You can give it with a small syringe without a needle. Just let out a drop at the tip of the beak.

You have to be careful syringing water to chickens especially one so small. You don't want it to go down the wrong way.

Chick starter is great.

I think that he's exhausted and dehydrated. I dipped the very tip of his beak in the enhanced water and he swallowed it. I can set up an alarm every two hours to help him drink but I still haven't figured out how to get him to eat.

Have you raised chicks before? They have to be kept warm but not too hot.

Is he the only chick you have now?

Can he stand on his own?

If he can stand on his own, you can spread some chick starter to see if he will peck at it.

I'm not yet sure whether he can stand on his own or not. He's sleeping like a rock so I'll give him a day to get stronger and will check his legs more thoroughly tomorrow.

I've never had chicks before, nor chickens. I volunteered to rescue a rooster and came across this tiny chick by mere fluke while I was shopping for all flock feed.

I have the rooster and the chick now.

I'll try to teach him how to peck at food if I can get him to stay awake for a full minute.

He is going to need some warmth. He appears to be maybe 1-3 days old. Do you have a desk lamp or a heating pad that does not have auto shut off?
Yes, he must have just broken out of his shell maybe yesterday. Tragic that he doesn't have his mom. I bought a lamp from Tractor Supply. He's sleeping under it but moved slightly to the side so maybe it felt too hot at first. He seems to need a lot of sound sleep at the moment.
