That sounds really callous but I’m afraid it does and we all lose our girls, however upsetting it is life and new life goes on.

Yes, I still miss my hen who passed, she was the best... Nothing lives for ever unless its in your heart .

I love my reds. They're probably my top breed overall. I suspect the people who have issues with them are keeping them confined in small areas, because my free-range reds are perfectly behaved

My reds love attention and get along well with the others so far. I am still working on the pecking my legs though… it doesn’t seem mean but still. Even my barred rocks do it.
