Rooster chasing tail

I have an 8 mth old hamburg cockrel that is spinning in circles chasing his tail, he does this quiet often. any ideas?

Check his vent area for lice/mites. Maybe they are biteing, and he is trying to get to them???

If he is pecking at the base of his tail I would say shaft mites, but you said spinning in circles, more than likely its sexual frustration( if he is by himself?)
I've seen this many times where a young male would chase his sickle feathers and once he grabed one he would thread the dirt as if breeding a hen. put a pullet with him and it will stop
