I have a 3 month old silver sebright roo and he's my only roo out of 14 chickens but he crows NON. STOP. From 5am to 10am and then once every 20 mins for the rest of the day. The rest of my family wants to get rid of him but I love him and he's so sweet, so I'm seeking alternative ways to keep him quiet. I have tried going out to the coop at 5am and spraying him with a spray bottle every time he crows but that only succeeded in making him crow a little less frequently but louder and he would hide when he crowed so I couldn't spray him. I've been searching on here for suggestions and I came across one where someone put a part of a sock around their Roo's neck and it made him be quiet. I have doubts and I don't want to risk putting it on too tight or something. Does anyone have any experience with this method, or does anyone know any other non surgical way to keep him quiet so he can stay in his home?
Edit: I had my niece make a collar for him out of her rainbow loom bands, and while it succeeded in making him quiet he was extremely bothered by it and kept trying to get it off. Multiple times he got his beak stuck in the rubber bands and would freak out, so we took it off. I'm going to purchase the no crow collar as it seems like he couldn't get his beak stuck and I've heard good reviews. I'll let y'all know how it works when it comes!
