Hey y'all! So I have a rooster. I didn't raise him from a baby but he was given to me and I was told he was about eight to nine months old at the time. So he is estimated to be about nine to tenish months old now.
I was worried he was going to be aggressive but he was actually more curious and weary than anything else! He loves to walk around me and he'll even eat treats out of my hand but he won't allow me to touch him or anything. He gets scarred and runs away if you try to touch him.
However, he absolutely hates my husband! Now my husband travels for work and is only home typically every other weekend. This last time my husband was home, memorial weekend, Gimli (rooster) was flogging him and following him around like a crazy ex-girlfriend! My husband caught him during one of his flogging fits and pinned him to the ground to try and show dominance. That worked for probably close to an hour and then Gimli went right back to stalking and flogging him.
Has anyone else ever had a rooster that was sweet with most people but absolutely hates a specific person? What did you guys do? Is there a way to get Gimli to accept my husband? Even though he isn't home all the time I don't want my husband having to watch his back (literally) every time he steps outback. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
