Honestly, tempting. We have enough coyotes around that I could fib, but I'd prefer not to be a liar to her. It feels... wrong.
ok, how About the rational approach?
"He drew blood, if I were a neighbors child or the FedEx guy, I could sue you for knowing possessing an aggressive animal and not keeping it contained."

The thing is, he is contained. He was in the chicken run, and I entered it in order to set their door to shut at a later time because we would have been late to ensure they were all in. And, with my hens, I have a few that will stay out until the door shuts before they get in.

I wouldn't keep a rooster like that. Regarding your MIL, I have heard good things about the Boundaries book by Cloud and Townsend. Maybe it would give you some ideas/support/inspiration. Would she perhaps be able to take the rooster back instead? Good luck!

I'd either chop him or take him out to a remote country area and let him fend for himself. He's already drawn blood.....

How about showing MIL your wounds? I would. She'd understand better about him disappearing, unless she's not rational about it.

Heads up: Mentions and description of the wounds gifted so "lovingly" by one of my roosters.

Okay, so. I have two rooster, Mr. Snow and Rooster Bennington (aka Roo). Mr. Snow is a loving, cuddly boy and will happily jump into my husband's arms like a sweet, baby boy. Roo... is a dick. He's also my MiL's, so I can't... really make decisions about him, otherwise we'd have a very nice chicken dinner.

The point is, yesterday, Roo managed to catch me off guard and managed to attack me. He got me with both his spurs through overalls and pants before I managed to get him to back off. My first thought was, "No blood, but ow." The second was, "I am Done."

I go into the house, take my layers off, and my husband had to help me clean the bleeding wounds located on my outer calf which is where we learned the wounds were spur wounds, not peck wounds. One is... actually pretty deep and nearly bled through both bandaids before it chilled.

Back story done. Here's what I would like to ask: Does this mean Roo is aggressive and should I try harder to convince my MiL to let him be a dinner?
I'd either convince her to keep him in a rooster coop... Or cull him and say a predator took him... Maybe pull some of his feathers and say "this was the crime scene when he was taken"
