You should at least call your doctor about treatment of a puncture wound caused by a dirty spur. When was your last tetanus shot.

At that age - he is not going to change. And really, personally, I don't think any of them change - people change.

It is unreasonable to expect someone else to take a beating. To be honest, I think it sends the wrong image to kids to watch an adult take a beating from an animal of any kind. I too, am not a believer in lying, but also, this bird would be gone. No one deserves this, there are no excuses for his behavior - it is a genetic, hormonal thing that cause this fact, not a human's fault.

Go down at dark, wear a sweatshirt and gloves, take him off the roost, and apply a broomstick. Put him back in the coop. In the morning, you will find him dead. A lot of birds do die at night. That is all you need to say.

...About that. I don't have a doctor currently and I can't remember when my last tetanus shot was, tho it may have been a bit before I married my husband? Long story short, we've unfortunately been having issues with getting me insurance.

It's why I'm kinda upset with my MiL over Roo? Like, I would have preferred culling him sooner because I knew that, even with all the things I put on for my protection, he was going to harm me and I can't currently see a doctor if he did... and then he did it. And, honestly, it absolutely hurts and my husband pointed out I'm limping from it. And it doesn't help that, uh, unfortunately my muscles tend to tighten around wounds, as he has also pointed out, due to my absolute fear of hospitals (medical trauma, yay). So, like, this is my worst case scenario come to life and I am hating it.

Sorry for the little rant. I'm just. I knew this would happen. I knew it and I was still surprised.

You can get a tetnus shot at many pharmacies. I got my last one at a local Walmart pharmacy. Dunno how much they cost without insurance but I don't imagine it'd be too much. In any case it wouldn't hurt to ask
