The literature I have says not to use Safeguard during breeding season or during molting. Can you call the vet and ask them for their opinion?

One can also use this pyrantel pamoate (50 mg/ml), I think it might be *much* cheaper. The dose for this is about 0.23 ml per five pounds of bird:

Can they have this even though they’re molting? They were vaccinated for mareks and coccidia - will this do anything to that vaccine? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

The least expensive Nemex 2 bottle (4.54 mg/ml) is ~60 ml and will treat 24 five-pound chickens once. It has 272.4 mg pyrantel pamoate.

The 16-ounce bottle (50 mg/ml) is 473 ml and will treat 24 five-pound chickens 86 times.
It contains 23650 mg pyrantel pamoate.

I understand you. I prefer the lower dose. It's just as effective as the higher dose. AND, I dont have 24 chickens!

The 2.5 ml dose of the Nemex-2 that you give = 11.35 mg
The 0.23 ml dose of the more concentrated stuff that I use = 11.5 mg
