Found this nasty site this morning on my droppings board.

It’s either from my little Roo or my hen. I’m leaning towards my little rooster but not sure. I plan on sending the sample off to get tested but that’s gonna be a few days to a week since it’s via mail. I thought I’d reach out to y’all to see if anyone knew by looking what type of worms these are.

My thinking is Roundworms and if so I treat with Piperazine (Wazine-17)?

Thank you for your time!

What are the small light specks in the dropping? A closer pic either of this dropping or another dropping would help. No need to keep this dropping, but get a fresh dropping if you are going to wait to send it in for a fecal test. The egg larvae, not seen without a microscope is what the vet will look for. Wazine will treat the roundworms only, but if there are other types, you would need Valbazen or SafeGuard to worm her.

Thank you! The specs are sand.

They are definitely large roundworms and I agree with Sue Gremlin, treat all your birds.

At first I thought the light specks might be a bunch of tapeworm segments but they look like tiny pebbles or sand lol.
That is what I was thinking, but figures it was some type of beding or debris.

Do y’all agree that Wazine is the best course of treatment or is there another one that is better? I only question it because it just rained so there are puddles the chickens can drink out of in addition to the treated water. I have also read about Safeguard & Ivermectin.

Wazine will work for the roundworms and only the roundworms, but you can certainly use something else. I am a fan of Safeguard because it has a much broader spectrum and will treat any other nematodes your chickens may have.
The general rule of parasites is that mixed infections are the norm, so your chickens probably have other things as well.
