I brought home a new hen yesterday that I was "told" was a sex link. (I just bought her because I thought she was pretty LOL) She's not quite old enough to lay eggs yet so I am eagerly awaiting that first one :) Meanwhile, I wonder if she is actually an Araucana mix of some sort? She is still in isolation so sorry for the awkward angle on the pics. She does not appear to have cheek tufts (yet) no semi plucked or short tail feathers at all. It's just bald there : | She has gold eyes and dark feet. In the pics she has a faint blue tinge but I don't see that in person. In the sun, she has black feathers with a greenish tinge. Any ideas??

It looks like she is some sort of maran mix. She has a tail, but it probably got plucked out by her "friends". No muffs either, but that looks normal.
Also, she might be a he. I'm just going with my gut, but that head looks likeshe might "become" a roo.

Got a better pic. I will say that my current roo who is a complete and total butt isn't threatened by this bird. So I am praying it's not another roo :)

She looks just like one of my hens Wiggles that I've posted pictures of on this forum as well. The feedback I've gotten is mostly that she is either a Black Sex Link or a mix of various other breeds.

Yeah, the other pics have reminded me how orange BSL's can get

If she is a BSL, then she is a definite she, due to their sex-lined parentage.

Black Sex Link pullet - She doesn't appear rumpless, more like an awkward molter. Truly rumpless birds are actually missing the last part of the spine - the pygostyle - and sometimes a vertebrae or two as well, not just their tail feathers.
