Sapphire Gem pullet or roo?

This sapphire gem chick is between 2 and 3 weeks old, purchased as a pullet in a group from a local farm supply but I’m not so sure.
From what I understand about this breed, the hens are not supposed to have this type of barring on their feathers? None of the other chicks I’ve got have similar coloring, they look like standard pullets of the breed. I’ve attached a few photos where i labeled him/her as a 1. Also attached is a pic of one of the other SG chicks I have to show the major difference in them. I know it’s too early to truly tell but I’m very skep of this particular chick

Try reposting in a few weeks. It is extremely hard to tell at that age, sorry. I will check now if my chick had barring like that.

Mine doesn’t have a lot of barring, but she does have some. I’m really hoping she’s a girl

If they're being bred correctly then sapphire gems are sex linked. Males will have a light spot on their head, females will not. Males also have barred feathering.

Oh, nice to know. Do you think this ones a girl? It seems to have a tiny bit of barring on one wing but not the other.

Truly barred birds will have a white patch on their heads. What you have might look like barring but it's probably just the lacing that you see on blue chickens sometimes.
So yes, I think you have a girl.
