Hello all!

I wanted to reach out and get some input on anyone who has had experience with scissor beak. I have a 4 week old silkie with it. It’s pretty severe however it is able to eat and drink and is growing and gaining weight. It is a little behind in growth but seems healthy and able to hold its own. I’ve been filing the beak to keep it as short as possible and I do supplement feed it with a syringe to make sure it doesn’t fall too far behind and stays hydrated.

Any input, experience, advice/suggestions would be great! I don’t have the heart to euthanize it since it seems to be doing generally well.

Thanks!

Yes I have bricks and cinder blocks in my big chicken run. These guys are little and I’ve noticed it has started rubbing its beakto try to condition it so I’m going to put something in there for it today.

Thank you!
