Screen for Run

Just about anything with teeth can chew right through that. Don't rely on plastic to keep your chickens safe from predators.

I'd be really surprised if windowscreen kept in a chicken that *really wanted* to get out, e.g. a rooster who wanted to get into the next pen to clean some other rooster's clock. Cats can rip through windowscreen like nothing, and chickens aren't really any weaker or less pointy than cats are.

I can certainly see using windowscreen *over top of* other, actually-predatorproof, fencing in order to keep out skeeters and flies, though.

Thanks everyone. I went to Lowes today and bought 4x50 welded wire. It took most of the day, but the run is up. I still have a little work before I put the chicks in, but appreciate all of your input so that I build it right the first time.

That grainger place (never heard of it before) turned out to have hardware cloth for half the price of Home Depot!

That a tip that was! THANK YOU BYC/ Grainger Person!!!

I would go with hardware cloth too. I have hardware cloth around the bottoms of my coops anc covering the window openings, but I have chicken wire around their run and yard, but I also have electric going around everything. I use
Grainger too.
