So I've been reading around on previous gender identification posts, and it seems like they're are some general rules of thumb for sexing Easter eggers based off of feather color.
Can anyone lay them out clearly?
We've got 6 Easter eggers and no idea what anyone is yet. All 5 weeks old. We've been loosely assuming female based off of demeanor.

Pics? Any with red shoulders and not red bodies are male

With EEs, you want to look for uneven splotchy coloring which would indicate male. The red shoulders are a pretty good indicator. A female will have pretty consistent coloring.

You can also look at their combs. If they all have pea combs, males will typically redden early and will often be wider.

A lot of us like to guess breed and gender so feel free to show pics of each and we can try to help.

Pictures, two black ones should be ameracaunas, two were falling asleep. IMG_20250424_210838.jpg IMG_20250424_210833.jpg IMG_20250424_210824.jpg IMG_20250424_210820.jpg IMG_20250424_210814.jpg IMG_20250424_210805.jpg IMG_20250424_210756.jpg IMG_20250424_210751.jpg IMG_20250424_210745.jpg
