Inspired by @Perris I started researching hedgerows. I am Seriously going to find a way to make this work on our property. https://www.hedgelaying.org.uk/hedgelaying/brash/

They're not allowed out of the extended run currently, although I'm sure they would love to help dig the post holes. What do the girls think of your digging? Do they come over looking for grubs?
Whew, that sounds like a lot of work. Two and a half hours today. A dry and chilly afternoon.
Got the last holes dug out on this section of the fence. Only gate and two posts holes to dig on the other side of the field gate now. More rubbish cleared away. Too busy to take pictures.
Chickens were out on the extended run while I worked. I'm waiting for materials to be delivered for the fence, probably on the 22nd of this month. I'll have a few days to do some work in the run; getting the rest of the rubbish out, digging what will be my small growing plot, clearing the rubble and weeds out of the wire cage and transplanting some fruit bushes.

Oh I’m so sorry!I lost my Martha this evening.
She was Zacchaeus' broody mother.
She was my favorite.

I'm going to miss her.

I have. If this was my own land I might but the plot size is small and I'll enjoy scrabbling around on my hands and knees pretending to forage with the chickens.Have you considered raised beds for your little plot?
