Absolutely gorgeous! I was going to get the Dorper/Katahdin crosses but a fellow closer to me has some St. Croix/Katahdin crosses for sale, so I may re-evaluate.

Anyone have pics of St. Croix/Katahdin crosses?

Thanks for all the info and the pics. Now to find a lamb cheap! I think I do want bottle babies and preferably a small breed with nice wool. My daughter knows how to shear.

Thank you Ma'am!

I have 18 ewes that should start lambing in about 3 weeks or so.
They can all be registered, and will either be 62% or 68% Dorper, depending on which ewe.
Sam the Ram will be the Sire of all of them.

I should also (hopefully) be having a litter of registered
Maremmas born around the first week of March, from Beau and Brandy

I'm in Eastern NC, and it's really not a huge distance. I got one of my female Maremmas in WV, and we did the trip up and back on the same day.

Here are a couple from last year:

These are a week old or less:

I'm in love with my new Babydoll sheep. They are just wonderful. They are the original sheep brought to NA and are a heritage breed now, and considered a miniature as they are only 18 - 20 in high av. They are a spinner's sheep as the fleece is like cashmere and great for small farms. They make the best pets and are very friendly. They do however also have good meat/milk if you are so inclined. I would highly recommend these sheep to anyone . Very easy to keep.

I too read the Living with Sheep and did a lot of research and planning before I got them and it was worth it. I have 4 and got them as lambs so won't breed them till this fall.

Babydoll sheep, colored angora goats, suri llamas, angora rabbits, maltese dogs, 3 orange cats and soon some pymgy & pygora goats & silkie chickens for my fiber farm. (and a zillion butterflies).
