Show me your duck coops/pens so u can help other people like me get ideas

We are still working on the night box. For now, they are going in a temporary pen in the garage at night. WE have chickem wire over the top to keep out predators and 1/2inch mest 30inches up from the ground. The wood/stone extends 8" below ground to keep diggers out.

I was trying to encourage everyone……..

I designed it, my neighbor built most of the house part, I built the rest.

It took about five months to get it all built. I learned quite a bit that year. Like how to use a drill and a circular saw, and a carpenter's square.

I have heard of people having a kind of party where they get people to come over to help build things. Maybe you can think about an upgrade, and have some folks come build parts of it with you. My neighbor is retired and he was looking for a spring project. Took him three days, six hours a day. I finished the house with vinyl flooring inside, and half inch metal hardware cloth. Be careful with that hardware cloth - it'll maim you!

My duck pen is connected to my organic vegetable garden by design. To take advantage of their pest control abilities as well as fertilizer. There is a fence between the pen and garden allowing their access to be controlled. The project is made from recycled materials. The fence is made from pallets. The pool was a damaged stock watering tank I repaired and altered. Their house was a dog house. I will attempt to add more than one photo but just in case I have pinned it under ducks in garden at https://www.pinterest.com/poorurbanfarmer/ducks-in-garden/ in case you might like to pin any of it in your duck collections.

This is the garden and pen layout the stock tank has a bottom drain that I hook a water hose to and drain the pool to root zones of the desired plants I intend to water and fertilize.

I am amazed at what you have done it is just the cutest garden duck area I have ever seen. This needs to be in Back Yard Poultry magazine.

Thank you miss Lydia. I just finished installing the wire between the garden and pen July 3. It was a lot of hard work for a disabled 60 year old lady. I stared on it the 15 of march I am so happy to be at a pause point.
