Chicken Names 2010 Flock:
Abidah (M): Hebrew name meaning The Father knows/Wise Father Delaware Rooster (God knew multiple roosters would be best for the Hen Pen environment God knows)
Henya (F) my Renaissance bird: Hebrew name meaning grace of the Lord - Rhode Island Reds hen
Eliana (F): Hebrew name meaning my God has answered B & W Americauna hen (God made sure I got an Americauna) ... this bird which we thought was a pullet CROWED yesterday, so I need to change the name to Esig (M) today which means "he who laughs"; I'm sure this cocky but handsome bird was laughing at me while I was thinking of all the pretty eggs I'd collect from it.
Fina (F): Hebrew name meaning Jehovah increases Wellsummer pullet
Gayla (F): Hebrew name meaning God has redeemed thanks to Esig being a cockerel instead of a pullet, this Rhode Island Reds pullet has been redeemed.
Havva (F): Hebrew name meaning life Wellsummer (hopefully she will be the broody one)
Keshet (F): Hebrew name meaning rainbow - 2nd Americauna hen (turquoise and olive colored eggs)
Mya (F): Hebrew name meaning emerald I have noticed that the Wellsummer pullets have an emerald tint to the tip of their dark feathers when the light shines on them just right
Peninah (F): Hebrew name meaning pearl Delaware hen (white with black freckles)
Tov (M): Hebrew name meaning God is good Orpington Rooster (buff colored and a gift from God)
Yocheved (F): Hebrew name meaning God is glory Orpington hen (buff colored and Tovs favored companion)
Chana (F): Hebrew name meaning "grace" - this pretty Coco Maran walks like a graceful model on the catwalk; LOL
God provided the birds I asked for this year, even if there were FOUR ROOSTERS in the mix - my sister took one and I'm thinking of keeping the rest. Oy! Interesting days ahead
I need at least 3 hens apiece for each roosters, so I guess I will be keeping all of my birds this year: none of them will be going under the knife ...
