A bad odor could be sour crop, coccidiosis, unknown infection , canker, or infectious coryza. But she didn’t seem to have any of those symptoms. A necropsy really is the best way to find out what was going on. The best one is the one that the state vet vet lab does. They look at tissue and do cultures for infection.
