Sick Hen.

I have done that a few times. I have checked her for an egg and she doesn't have anything there. She is also the smallest chicken out of the bunch and you can feel most of her bones now.

Thanks, it isn't a great feeling knowing there isn't much else you can do, I will swing by the feed store on my way in to work. I can work a short day today and get home before dark.

I just thought of something as well, we switched to a different pellet a few weeks ago and I am wondering if there is something in it she might not like to eat.

If she is losing weight, it's probably from not drinking/eating due to a disease. Unless it's an infection of some type that can be treated with antibiotics, anti-fungals, cocci-stat, etc., she will probably not survive.

Can you take her to a vet?
Have you been weighing her?
Are you willing/able to tube feed?
Have you wormed her, if so, when, with what and how much?
Have you dusted her for mites/lice with a proper poultry dust? DE doe not work.

Try offering her some mealworms, crickets or eggs, if she won't eat those, you'll know it's not the pellets.

I picked up an adic-pak for their water, meal worms, new scratch and a protein boost pellet and they all went nuts. I think their pellets were either bad or they didn't like it. She ate what she could and has perked up a lot this morning.

I picked the pellets up at a re-opened feed store by my work and I am thinking there was something off about the pellets.

I am crossing my fingers that this is it. I have checked her for pretty much everything.
