In the Brooder
Hey all, so one of my hens was “attacked” by one of my dogs last week Thursday. I say “attacked” because it was more like a stomping, with some pulling of feathers. I was present when it happened so I was able to stop the dog almost immediately. She seemed to be fine aside from being shaken up with a very slight limp. The next day (Friday) I noticed a good amount of yellow/white pasty poop stuck to her butt. I managed to give her a bath inside and blow dry her off.
I have seen green blobs (bile?) in her poop since the incident. Also since Thursday she has been given water with probiotics, electrolytes, vitamins & lactobacillus. She has not been very eager to eat but is managing to do so. I had to start giving her a separate bowl of food away from the other three because they weren’t letting her eat
which has never happened in my flock.
Today was the first day since Thursday that she decided to come out and forage with the rest of the girls. She is fairly slow, her tail is down a lot more than usual and she is taking naps in the middle of the yard (another first). I saw her poop today but only a glob/sting of what I think is bile. Should I be worried? I do not have access to a vet that sees chickens
