About 3 weeks ago we treated our young flock for cocci, (5 days). One ameraucana was sluggish and anything we tried didn’t help, so we tried Corid. All seemed good after that. Today our silkie is just sluggish and sleeping. This morning would not eat or drink. Gave some nutridrench and separated from flock (don’t want her getting pushed around). Seems now there is a smidge in her crop now. Should we treat with corid again?? Only thing other than sleepiness is a few sneezes. Photo of our girl in question

What Corid dosage did you use? Sometimes it takes a longer course of treatment.... but sneezing and lethargy can be some kind of respiratory issue. It's been a few days, how are things now and is anyone else sneezing?

You might want to give your silkie a nice "haircut" to enable proper vision.
Silkies and Polish often suffer tremendously from overgrown head feathers that prevent them from being able to orientate and feed themselves properly, as they are kind of blindfolded and as such afraid to move.

Try some vitamin-B complex boost as well, as Silkies are prone to disorders of vitamin B uptake.

1 teaspoon per gallon for 5 days. Unfortunately another one of our chickens passed yesterday even though I started treating them the day I posted. Our silkie is still holding on but not back to her normal self. Can I give vitamin b with corid, I was always told not to give vitamins at the same time. Also no more sneezing for any of them, so I’m not sure if it was related.

No, don't give vitamin supplements containing vitamin B1 (Thiamine) at the same time, as this would render the Corid treatment useless.

I thought that the treatment was done already, and afterwards it would be useful, but not simultaneously.

The treatment was done a few weeks ago and they were fine after the 5 days, but these two were having issues again. So I started another round 😔

I'm so sorry. As others have said, no vitamins while treating with Corid. Starting another round is a good idea, as is getting a necropsy if you can. The Corid dosages I know for a severe outbreak (which you should be using) are 2 teaspoons per gallon for liquid Corid, and 1-1/2 teaspoons per gallon for powdered Corid.

Thanks so much. We haven’t given any vitamins with the corid, and will continue the treatment. Will start some vitamins after though.

If Corid proves to be not strong enough, you might want to start them on a sulfa drug like Sulfadimethoxine, which will also help with several other diseases (intestinal and respiratory infections etc.).
