My four day old silkie chick has one curled foot. The other foot is perfectly fine. She can stand, walk, and run but when she does so she can't get traction and her leg just kinda slides out to the side. So she spends most of her time sitting.
The brooder flooring is a towel over pine shavings.
I'm giving baby vitamins (no iron) and I've been feeding her a mash (vitamins, water and chick food). Is there anything else I can do to help her out?

Yes there is! I went through this a few weeks back, our little silkie couldn't even stand! Thank God yours can! For the curled toes I used those medium size corn pads and band aids. Try wrapping the foot with gauze before you put on the band aid so you don't get adhesive stuck to its feathers, and it also looks like you need to make a leg hobble. Again, I used a band aid. I'll look for a link for you and post it... give me a sec.... here's the link! http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl...E-SearchBox&rlz=1I7GGLL_en&ndsp=18&tbs=isch:1 you'll have to scroll down a little, but it has good visuals! Good Luck and keep us posted!

It's not pretty, but I got all her toes straightened out. Poor thing is really mad at me right now though. I'm going to give her a break before I try to make the leg hobble.
