There is some watered down sunshine out there! I'm thinking I should go work in the garden after lunch. No end of tasks I could pick from. Maybe do some heavy work first, and finish with some puttering.
I didnt get to the hens,, or mowing, I started puttering ,,, by cleaning up back by the coop/porch, moved my container off the pad and down behind the coop. It has chick stuff and garden stuff in it.

Hubby and Freya are going to Charlotte, NC, a week from today. I plan to give some of the ladies spa days while there is no dog around to get excited or scare the chickens.

Actually, it'll be spa nights, as I'll take them off the roost at night, and keep them in the dark. They aren't used to this, so it'll be traumatic, and I'll have to minimize that.

They may enjoy it. I trap mine in the coop and take one out at a time, then let the clean ones in the run.

they are all out this morning and sticky butt free
only one did I have to work extra to get some sticky dark?? maybe mite sack? from the shaft by the vent, I used extra dawn to finger nail scrape it off. It finally did. several have top feathers missing on their back, hip down and I noticed what looked like someone used fingernail scissors to snip tail feather from the outer edge straight in to the shaft??? lice will do that I read. Also when the ends of the tail feathers feel gritty and not smooth.

Well, @Sally PB @Smokerbill
I bought 2 blueberries, 2 Anaheim green chili plants, an early girl larger tomato and some petunias yesterday. Due to the roofing crew taking all day to blow insulation into the attic I did not mow the yard.
today-- we have a painter coming, He is going to paint all of the eves, fascia, and porch soffit/trim. his price was very reasonable and we have no business up that high. He will be here first thing this morning........

the windows were delivered yesterday by millguard. , and this is how they stacked them. IMG_7297.jpeg

WELL! about 5pm the the wind kicked up, and DH left for Bible study and as I was taking the rocking chairs off the porch I heard- THUD- ya, two fell and one broke. IMG_7298.jpeg

I called the siding guy ( he was an hour away) and sent him pics, and in a fluster I had to turn what windows I could on their side so they wouldn't fall. I couldn't do the sliding door or two big ones but he said thank you and he will be here first thing this morning...................
