Hello! I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about my birds! They are sneezing and breathing with their mouth open. They have gotten antibiotics (I thought it was a viral infection) but it didn't help much.

Symptoms:
Sneezing
Breathing with mouth open
One is sniffling
Less action (may just be bc of cold)
Fluffed feathers

Stats:
3 weeks this has happened
2/11 are sneezing
3/11 are breathing with mouth open
1/11 is sniffling

Ages:
5 3 3 3.5 2.5 year
4 4 4 4 5 5 month

Other:
The coop is cleaned 1-2 a month (its large)
They go outside in a large run
Sometimes free range
Water cleaned 2-4 a week

Any information would be helpful!

It could be a ventilation problem, but infectious bronchitis virus can cause repeated sneezing and congestion symptoms for about a month. It spreads through the flock, but most grown chickens recover in a few weeks. Antibiotics don’t help unless they develop a secondary infection, such as MG. What antibiotic did you give, and what dosage? Have you seen any bubbles or foam, or swelling in either eye?

i dont rememeber what antibiotics i used. no swelling but one chicken (has no other symptoms) has bubbles and foam in one eye but its been like that every summer for 3 years.
