Frustrating to say the least.

Bonus point for heritage... you'd be helping to save a breed... that Tom you spare, or hen, can go on to have poults and continue the line... as opposed to these guys who'll croak no matter how hard you work to keep them ticking... and even if they didn't they still can't breed. So you're wasting feed, water, etc that could be going to families in NEED.

I swear, I get funny looks when I talk about Chicken Math but it's got NOTHING on the insanity that is Government Math.

I was just talking to someone about that tonight along with some breeds of chickens, too, with the same issues. You'll actually be doing a favor slaughtering them for dinner before they get so many health problems that their last days would be miserable otherwise.

i know i am going to sound completely uneducated here but i'm not familiar with turkeys. Could someone please explain what you mean by the BBW s being crushed and dying young and slowly?
