Splay leg?

Hi! I recently received this 10 day old chick and was told the leg recently became like this. There are indications that this leg has been like this (healed sore from dragging itself). I believe this is splay leg but i am not too familiar with this type of injury. Has anyone treated this injury successfully? What is the best brace to put him/her in and for how long? Did you go to the vet? If so was the vet able to treat?

That one is pretty common to happen and pretty easy to fix if you can move the leg back into position easily. Once you have it back where it is supposed to be use some vet wrap or medical tape around both legs to hold it in position for a few days. It will need extra help while it is taped because it will be hopping around instead of walking so make sure it eats and drinks regularly.
