Stimulating baby goats to potty?? Help Please

Some people use Karo syrup to get a kid to take a bottle just like human kids like the sweet part, and karo also helps constipation.

Thanks so much everyone for the advice and good wishes for her....i am feeling alot better about the bottle feeding now..she is getting it better now.. i did wait longer in between feedings this last time and when i put the bottle in she did not fight it..she started to suck right away....and ate almost her full 4 oz! the last 2 oz's were a fight though.. but i got it in her...so, i think shes getting used to the bottle better..

*waiting for the smacks from folks* But, i had bottle fed 2 other goats before, 1 from 1 week old and another from 2 weeks old...and since she will be used for milking i thought i should make her as hand tame as possible..she is a good breeder..i really think she is..she did tell me if there are any problems i can bring her back or call her...and i did call her, and thats when she told me to do the enema...i guess she hasnt bottle fed many herself..she usually keeps them with mom...but, because i am me, and always have to make my life more difficult i had to take a bottle baby home...

...and i am the same way with my bottle babies..i get so attached to them...how can you not? i see issues in the future when i breed her and have to give up the babies...

Thanks for all your help! , Wendy

Hi, do you know where i can get that B 12 gel? TSC maybe? and how much do i use? thanks, Wendy

Yes Tractor Supply should have it. Most feed stores carry it too. The instructions should say how much. If not, give her 1/4 of the syringe the first time. It comes in a suringe type thing. Like a horse wormer tube. But, much smaller.
I'm not sure how big she is, but if she is up to 4 ounces you might want to stop feeding when she stops drinking on her own. She will increase the amount as she needs it. Overfeeding can cause scours and she might be satisfied at 4 ounces for now.
I'm so glad she is improving. Can't offer any advice about the not pooping.

Thanks for the information Skyesrocket, she just ate again, shes really got the hang of the bottle now!

she took in all the 4 oz this time with no problem at all! she was even ramming my arm that i hold the bottle with...you know how they ram moms belly to eat...heehe, she thinks i'm her mom..

still no poop though...

i hear her belly making noises..so, i think its still moving....maybe she just needs a few more good meals?

That explains a ton I wouldnt be so worried about her then, if she was mom fed until now she had no idea what to do with a bottle and it will take her longer than a day old bottle baby to learn to eat since she already had a technique down and eating so little when she was used to eating more she is not going to potty as much until she really gets the hang of eating and eating a good amount.

It sound slike she is getting used to the bottle though so hopefully she is going to do just fine. As long as she is active and playful she is probably doing well.
